Earlier this year, we at HostingInIndia introduced an exciting feature for our users – the WordPress staging tool. Previously, setting up a staging environment for testing changes on your website was a cumbersome task. It often involved installing additional plugins or reaching out to customer support for assistance, making the whole process both complex and time-consuming.
With our new WordPress staging feature, creating a staging environment is now straightforward and easily accessible right from your HostingInIndia control panel, hPanel.
The Advantages of WordPress Staging
The WordPress staging feature allows you to test modifications without impacting your live site. This means you can experiment with themes, try out new plugins, and tweak settings in a safe environment. If any issues arise, your live website remains unaffected.
Additionally, staging helps identify bugs or critical issues before your site is published, enhancing both functionality and user experience.
Our tool eliminates the need for third-party plugins for staging, automating the entire process – from setting up the environment to applying changes to your live site.

For those using the Single or Premium Shared Hosting plans, manual staging setup is still required, or you might consider plugins like WP Staging for assistance.
Understanding How the WordPress Staging Tool Functions
When you set up a staging environment, the tool creates a subdomain that replicates your live site. This ensures that the staging and production sites operate independently, allowing you to make adjustments in the staging area without risk.
Steps to Use the HostingInIndia WordPress Staging Tool
Creating a staging environment is a breeze with HostingInIndia. Here’s how you can do it:
Log into your HostingInIndia account to access hPanel.
Go to the WordPress section and select “Staging.”
Under the Staging tab, click on “Create staging.”
Fill in the necessary details in the pop-up window to set up a subdomain for your staging environment, then click “Create.”
Depending on your site’s size, the creation process might take up to 15 minutes. Once completed, close the confirmation message.
Now, you can easily manage your staging environment. Simply click “Manage staging” next to the site you wish to modify.
Through the staging dashboard, access the WordPress admin area by selecting “Edit staging.” Here, you can make changes to posts, pages, plugins, and themes. When satisfied, head back to the WordPress staging page on hPanel and choose “Publish” from the options beside your updated staging site.
A confirmation pop-up will appear, and once you click “Publish,” your changes will go live. The tool also automatically creates a backup before publishing, allowing you to revert changes if needed.
